Following the completion of his residency, he completed a fellowship in orthopedic trauma surgery with the Orthopaedics Indianapolis group in Indianapolis, Indiana.

Dr. Vande Zandschulp is board-certified in orthopedic surgery and specializes in orthopedic trauma surgery. His practice focuses on fracture care–including non-healing fractures and mal-aligned fractures–and acute injuries to tendons, ligaments, and joints.

Dr. Vande Zandschulp is passionate about what he does. He chose this field of medicine because it gives him the ability to make an immediate difference in his patients’ lives with a real, visible improvement in their condition. He is also drawn to the mechanical aspects of orthopedics and the patients who are motivated to get better and overcome their injuries. In fact, he enjoys watching his patients heal and recover from their injuries so they can return to their lives after devastating, life-changing events. With appropriate care, patients can get back into the activities they didn’t think possible at the time of injury.

Originally, Dr. Vande Zandschulp is from Iowa but settled in Portland after his residency. Outside of the office, Dr. Vande Zandschulp enjoys spending time with his wife and sons, attending sporting events, reading, camping, and watching his boys’ activities.
