Dr. Amer Mirza has training in adult arthritis and joint replacement surgery. His practice focuses on personalized care for patients of all ages seeking to reduce pain, improve function, and return to active lifestyles. Dr. Mirza is board-certified by the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons (AAOS). He is vice president of the Oregon Association of Orthopaedic Surgeons (OAOS).
He was recognized as one of Portland Monthly’s “Top Doctors” five times in the last 6 years.
During his tenure at OHSU, Dr. Mirza served as co-director of orthopedic trauma and continued to excel in patient care and education, receiving awards for training orthopedic residents and OHSU medical students.
Dr. Mirza remains academically active with research publications, and active memberships in national and regional organizations including AAOS, OAOS, Orthopaedic Trauma Association, American Association of Hip and Knee Surgeons, and the American Orthopaedic Association.
Dr. Mirza has been actively involved in developing the Oregon Surgical Institute. This surgery center provides another option for those Summit Orthopaedic patients whose injuries require surgery.
Although he was not born in Oregon he proudly refers to himself as an “adopted Oregonian” after spending the last 20 years in the state. He has many interests outside of work. However, he most cherishes spending time with his wife and two children.
